urrrgh, still sick. supposed to go to zhonghua primary again today, but looks like my body speaks otherwise. i have actually enrolled into this charity organisation called care community services society. Basically, it is like any other charity organisation which provides care and assistance to youth, juvenile delinquents, the elderly and convicts. i chose the youth one, but i am considering to switch to the elderly next month or so. i inquired about the convicts section but i was told that you got to be of a certain age before the allow you to do so, hence, i am going to start the juvenile delinquents concurrently with the youth programme. cant wait to see how it goes.
oh yeah, so how did i get enrolled into this? followed ccm to trinity@adam a month back or so and this guy from CCSS approached me and introduced me to this organisation and the works on it. this might sound emotional and a little gay hahaha, but then, i had this surge to get involved into it and so i did. hahaha. well, at least i enjoy it.
anyway, i had my first day on monday at zhonghua primary. so a breakdown of the things i do there will be, an hour supervision on the kids' academics(eg. homework or assessment books), be a role model for the kids (haha, yeah im serious) and then another hour of play and im done for the day. the kids are great! wonderful bunch of people, but the worrying thing is that some of them are really poor in their academics. some of them have difficulties reading and writing at primary 1. The resident care givers (or what i think they are called) of zhonghua carehut explained that carehut is not a tuition centre, but more of a centre that provides the children with a sense of belonging and character building. they do provide the hour of the coaching in academics, but i personally feel that an hour each day is definitely not enough to pull up the grades for some.
well, lets see if i can make a change in the centre. haha. obama's words in play again. lololol. im done. time for some fresh air around my estate. maybe that can help my flu.
